Turbo camshaft on non-turbo?

The timing chain broke in my 1977 300D which also sheared my camshaft. I can only find a camshaft off of a turbo at the moment. Will it work on my non-turbo. The lobes are slightly bigger on the turbo. If I use it, should I adjust the valves a little looser?

thanks

You cannot use it without changing a few things and even then it might not work or be advisable.

The camshaft towers are different, so you need to change them too.

The valve stem seals are longer on the old engine, you need to change them too.

The rocker arms go together with a camshaft. The new harder rocker arms don't work with the old valve adjusting nut, so that needs to be changed too.

Then only the valve stem seals and the valve adjusting nut (and probably the valve lock nut).

While you are at it, check the rotocaps (the valve rotaters) too. Replace if they don't feel springy anymore.
