Is this head okay to use

I acquired a head (after my timing chain broke) but it has some pitting near the valves. Is this a problem?

As long as the valves seat properly, there are no cracks, and it is nice and straight, then should not be a problem. I would definately have it checked out by a machine shop before you put it on your car. Hope this helps

That pitting is as a consequence of water entering the combustion chamber. No problem but of course you want to make sure it won't do that when you put the head back on.

Get the head overhauled by a machine shop and make sure they are aware of the minimum thickness they can machine to, otherwise it will be rendered useless.

wish you had a better photo , but you could have a cracked head , mostly where the prechamber is located .

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to get a different head. Didn't want to risk it.
