Thinking of pulling the plug on this project and passing it off to someone else. I just don't have the time and effort needed to sort this out.
I've done a lot of looking around for a powertrain, and I can't seem to get something for a good price. When I do find a car, it's too nice to pull apart, or just flat-out more than what I'd want to spend for something I'm going to tear apart. The ones that are priced appropriately, have been wrecked, so the internals will likely need a tear-down to at least inspect it.
Almost like a high-end apartment in downtown NYC, I wanted a motor/gearbox combo that was move-in ready. I suppose if I lived in CA or somewhere on the east coast, or even Houston or Dallas, I wouldn't feel like I'm the only member in this city!
I'd hate to give up on this, as this is a unique car with a potential of being a fun weekend driver/head turner; at this point, I just don't know where to turn! There are some big names in the resto community that can easily source what I need, but with that comes a price tag. I can afford it, no questions asked, but I like to be smart when spending money especially if I know I can save significantly and get exactly what I'm looking for less money.
