Help valuing 1971 220D

Inherited from mother-in-law, 1971 220D that she inherited from her father. He was German national who bought the car new and was only owner until he died in late 1990s. We imported it from Germany and has been garage kept. He kept it in excellent shape in Germany.

All original, 22,000 km, great original paint, not wrecks, exceptional condition, original working radio, runs like new… really excellent condition all around.

I can’t find a good price. Any realistic ideas on price range would be appreciated.

Also, inherited a 1994 SL500 with 42k miles, also in excellent condition. Estimated price on that would also be appreciated.

Sorry, no pics as of now. I am shipping both cars from NOLA in the next week or two and plan to take pics then for sale.

I found a website that says the 1971 could be as high as $16k if in excellent condition (national car shows). $11k if it could be shown in local car shows. Avg $7.5k. Its easily in the 'local car show' category, but could be considered in 'excellent' condition i guess (again, all original and well maintained by an authentic german (that's a meticulous that he would iron is money when he visited us from German)).

I'm a ford bronco guy ('67), have no more room for another car, and have no idea about MB and level of interest/demand for these old cars. Nor do I have any understanding of this particular year/model. I did help get this car set up for maintence a few years back for my mother in law and the MB mechanic offered to buy it from me on the spot for $8k back then. I'm just not sure what the true value of this model car could be.

Any insight on a range would be helpful.
