Zenith Carbs. I need linkage help.
I lost a linkage on one of my zenith carbs. (the one closer to the firewall) I was able to find an adjustable ball joint linkage (as seen in the photo) that seems to fit very well. Here is my question, I don't know the proper length to adjust this linkage to. I used roughly the same distance that is set on the front carb linkage, but it seems like there is now a dead spot when I press the pedal in about an inch, the engine starts to die, if I continue to push it in, the engine revs up with no problems. I read some where on this forum that you do not want to accidently switch the two linkages,(I assume they were talking about my linkage in question) so that tells me that they should not be the same distance apart. Is this correct? Does someone have the distance between the two ball joints as shown in the photo? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. This is on a 1972 250/8 inline 6 engine.
