How original is your car and how far do you want to wander from such?
My w108 does not not use D jet but my 71 Volvo came from the factory with it.
once I got over the fundamentals I found it rather simple and reliable. Using Megasquirt is a lot of money to replace something that works well with the application. With that said many of the parts are still available used. D-jet was used on a lot of other cars beyond Mercedes, some of these parts are universal.
The only reason Id use Megasquirt is if I was building from the ground up, major parts were missing, or I stumbled across a free unit and car to experiment with.
The only plus I can think of is the fact that you can tweek your tune a lot more than the relic D-Jet. This only really matters if you have a custom build, with a different cam, pistons, head work, ect. Mercedes and Bosch let it go out of the factory with engineering that functioned. can you live with changing that?
I know others may think differently, but that is my 2 cents.
Cheers
Dave

oops noticed you have the K-Jet not the D-Jet. my bad, still some theories may apply. The key is to enjoy your car as much as possible, even when it just sits there like a overgrown paper weight (mine at the moment).
A double Cheers
Dave

What's your location? W114072's are pretty rare in the US.

With best regards
