Is it really a 1979 220D?
If so, it is a W123 model.
The car could or could not be wired for a radio at the factory. That makes it difficult to know which colours the wires have.
The easier route is to do some measurements with the aid of a multimeter.
For the radio there are one or two power wires: one with a permanent 12V and one with 12V depending on ignition lock position. The ground is usually through the harness, but a seperate ground wire can be made. The permanent 12V is usually spliced from the hazard light switch, the acc. 12V can be acquired from the cigar lighter. You can also run wires directly from the fuse box. Old radio's require one power wire, newer electronic ones two.
Apart from the power wires there are four wires for the two speakers.
