280 S engine into 250 S - issues with Radiator, smog pump, etc
I bought a really nice 1967 250 S that came without engine and transmission. Then I bought a really ugly 1968 280 S that came with engine (and webers) and transmission to use as the parts car. Started to prep for moving the guts yesterday and ran into several issues/questions:
1. The radiator from the 280S isn't going to fit into the 250S. Well more specifically the 280S radiator (1085010001) has an oil cooler on the side. Without the oil cooler the radiator _might_ fit. I would appreciate suggestions for what to do about this. I'm sure someone has been through this issue before and has suggestions. Both cars are/were automatics and there is a trans oil cooler on the bottom of the 280S radiator also.
2. The 280S engine has a smog pump. Is that something to be deleted as part of the transition? If so, how do I delete it?
3. The 280 S has a relay with no wires connected to anything. The 250 S doesn't have anything in the same spot. Can someone tell me what this relay (see photo) is for?
