You should see my 454SS's. I got a 750hp supercharged 454 I'm getting ready to put in one of my 90's.

This is my white one.

Sorry for the thread jack.
Ah good old 454, I wish I could build one right now. The heads actually came out of that generation truck.

I saw that, that's why I asked why you switched.

Top five reasons I posted in your topic:

1. You're talking about god, there has never been any god of any kind. EVER!

2. I just have a general dislike of you.

3. I am trying to tell you how to fix your Mercedes and you are not listening.

4. I'm flirting with Jody.

5. You're just to dumb to own a Mercedes, and should go buy a Honda.

So I got a bit done tonight, I ended up pulling the oil pan since I had a new 1 piece oil pan gasket and found some unwanted friends.... There were these 2 small chunks of cast iron sitting in the bottom of the pan, not something you want to find on an engine that has never been run...

Other than that everything else looked good. Tomorrow I am getting the oil pan, timing chain cover, valve covers and intake manifold ready for paint.

A friend suggested CAT yellow which I am pretty much sold on.

Any ideas for colors?

Well the trans I bought supposedly had an aftermarket set of internals but the guy didn't know what the manufacturer was nor did he know the gear ratios... Well it turns out the gear ratios are pretty bad ass and I cannot find another Sag/Muncie/Borg with anything like it...

Standard Close Ratio
2.20 1.64 1.31 1.00

Standard Wide Ratio
2.54 1.89 1.51 1.00

Mystery Ratio
3.50 2.48 1.65 1.00

This is gonna be interesting...

Looks like a early 80's 2.5L Camaro trans.

The straight cut reverse gear makes me thing that. Also the lower first gear makes me think 4cyl, and with a 1.0 final it makes me think it was a "light vehicle"

So that leaves Camaro's or S-10's. But it would have to be a 2 wheel drive S-10.

They did use a 4-speed at one point but I don't know what kind. Most Camaro's used a T-5 and so did the S-10's. And as far as I know the only manual transmission with a synchronized reverse gear was the NV3500, which was a 5-speed.

Also... it is a 4-speed, it is going to be a 1.00 final gear.

Why not go with a dry sump? No pesky oil sump and you won't have to swap out the steering linkage.

The SBC 350 has a lot more torque than the original six and the original differential is small and sized for the 2.8L six. You will have to swap out the rear axle for a 280SE 4.5 (V8) rear axle.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant
