1971 220D engine shut down
Well, I have the new vacuum pump on the car so it stops great - its is running very nicely now - my only issue now is at shut down - when I push the shut off knob in it does stop but the car shakes like a dog just coming out of water!!!! Was told this may have something to do with the shut off lever not completely shutting down - I did adjust the cable a little and all this seemed to do was to make it NOT shut off at all.
Can anyone give me a simplistic explaination as to how I need to adjust this?
At the moment the lever itself is not exactly straight down - it appears to be pointing forward when the engine is off - maybe the lever slipped on the shaft and needs to be re-positioned? Somewhat nervous to even mess with it at the moment in case I make things worse!
