Bundle of thanks for reply, let me share my story with you.
I have Unimog 421 with Om616.912 engine. The Unimog is without brake booster and I want to install brake booster for which I need a vacuum port or pump. MB 240D comes with vacuum pump but in Unimogs hour meter with Diesel lift pump is installed. So, by replacing hour meter with vacuum pump (simple bolt-on) I can get vacuum for Brake Booster but I am unable to install diesel lift pump on it (you just confirmed). Engine room is very congested and I can not install Diesel Lift pump on IP as well. That why Diesel lift pump is installed on Hour Meter.
Option 1. Install 240D vacuum port and install a electric fuel pump for feed IP.
Option 2. Forget about 240 vacuum pump and replace Alternator with vacuum port. It requires one oil deliver and return line to the engine. I thinking to get delivery line from Oil pressure switch (by install a T) and return line to valve cover or oil sump.
Option 3. Install external vacuum pump (belt driven) with some modification in engine room and use same option 2 oil delivery method.
OR if some provide me brilliant idea on the Forum.
