Sticking caliper

The rear caliper pistons appear to be siezed after having sat for many years - this is father in laws 71/72 220D - managed to get the pads out and now trying to free them up any tips to get this done without having to remove the calipers?

Pull them and rebuild them or they will forever squeal and/or not work properly, do the hoses too. front and rear.
check and adjust the parking brake while you are in there.

If they are that bad you may not be able to salvage them. They're probably corroded and pitted inside, unfortunately.

Good luck.
