I can get serial of motor, comes with a MBZ factory rebuilt transmission.
This motor sit vertical unlike the tipped gullwing/sL version.
fits inside a W111 or W108 motor compartment.
Best idea so far.

And of course, the sound of a finely tuned M189...

The project took a leap forward a couple of weeks ago. I found an original 1934 500K in Europe at a fair price, so I now have an original engine, transmission, frame, suspension, wheels, steering wheel and instrument gauges. Psychologically, it was a great find because it already has a replica body on it that I will not mind reselling when I put the Spezial Roadster body on it. I would have had a very difficult time replacing an original cabriolet or other body, though I know many have done so. The replica body I will be selling is a "low door" roadster -- great for a hot rod project.

i'm rather partial to a Chevy LS6 engine with a supercharger. It would cause me to have a "pure joy" heart attack to see such beauty...
