Is the humming coming from the headlights themselves or you hear it through the speakers when the lights are on? Also, if you missed my previous reply try the 107 forums since they have the same car as you, most of us in the vintage forum don't. Technically, it's the right place for your questions.

Rear window defrost switch? Has an automatic cut-off, lights up when engaged. This is the EURO version of the switch. Legend on top designates the
resistance in the rear window heater wires embedded in the glass.

Indeed rear window defrost.

The Windows reboot button is elsewhere.

That's a rear window defroster switch! The hard top has this feature with cable that has to be plugged in. The symbol on the defroster switch was different on the early R107s than later (a minor thing!!!).

I thought it was the traction control switch for when you want to do donuts on an icy road!!
