220D 71/72 Differential question

Me again - after getting the leak fixed on the car took it for a run - was ok until after about 10 miles when started getting random clonks and bonks from rear end - then when going around corners some creaking/squeeking noises - at first I thought it might be the differential but would imagine this would be a constant whining noise if there was a problem with it - any ideas? Worn bushings? Shocks worn? bearing?

Thank you

Lee

Inspect

The key to these older MBZ is to do research on the components and maintenance. This is achieved by reading tech manuals and researching forums.
Put the car on a lift. Inspect suspension, axles, seals, u-joints, etc.
Drain the rear axle oil, inspect the oil for debris?
Take pictures of the rear axle with proper inspection data and post on this forum.
We can help with the proper info.

Check the stabilizer links on the rear. Pretty common for these to fail if the car isn't driven often. They are ball and socket ends and when they break they can make a heck of a racket. Easy fix.
