1907-1913 Mercedes question
A colleague and myself are writing a book about the development and history of vehicular x-braced (cruciform) chassis frames. This will help many serious restorers and hobbyists alike since a subject book of this type has never been tackled before.
In my research I did run across a very early example of an x-brace design on the 1907-c.1914 Mercedes 35hp with live rear axle (not chain drive) where it has a bow-tie like brace behind the transfer case. I have a copy of the frame sketch seen in an early journal but wonder if anyone has a picture of the actual frame for our use?
Any help would be greatly appreciated... as well as any suggestions for other cruciform style frames from Mercedes or other early European vehicles.
