Item 0014: White wheel cover #2. Some denting around rim, some curb rash. Otherwise this wheel cover is not dented or indented or deformed at all. It does, however, have exterior rust spots and flash rust. Inside has a green coating, which is rusty. The grime around the inside rim, outer ring, would not come off with brake cleaner and paper towels, so I hit it with a green scrub pad (reluctantly) to reveal that it was just hard-caked brake dust and grime, not rust. I won't clean it any further. What you see is what you get.

Item 0015: White wheel cover #3. Steel, silver inside. Scratching and myriad microdots on paint, indentation on tri-star circle, light curb rash, deep scratch on exterior rim at 4 o'clock in first photo. I have not cleaned it in any way, except, on the inside outer ring I scraped enough of the brown away with my fingernail to see that it's just dust and grime, not rust, though the clips are a little rusty (as are the clips on all seven wheel covers--though none are broken). I won't molest it any further; I'll let you have that pleasure.

Item 0016: White wheel cover #4. Steel. Silver inside. Scratches and extensive dots of lost paint, especially heavy from 5 o'clock to 8 o'clock in the first photo. Extensive curb rash, several exterior rim dents. There is a rim pinch outward, at 9 o'clock in the first photo, looks like someone carelessly pried it off with a lug wrench without sticking the point of the lug wrench in deep enough to get leverage on the inner flange. Other than the rim dents and rim pinch, not dented or indented or otherwise deformed in any way. Interior is even cleaner than wheel cover #3.

Item 0017: White wheel cover #5. Steel. Silver inside. Curb rash, yuck. Dents on rim at noon and 4 o'clock. Paint has several small scratches, some microdots, and around the edge several small rust spots. The tri-star has been scraped, one spoke is indented in. Interior is about as nice as #3 but is missing one clip.

Item 0018: White wheel cover #6. Steel. Green inside, which is a little rusty but not nearly so bad as #2. But yep, where the green is chipped or flaked off, that's rust. Curb-rash-wise, this one is almost a virgin. Might actually be car-wash-brush scratches--except for those two little dents at 10 o'clock and a 2-1/2" archipelago of nicks counterclockwise from them. Unfortunately, the tri-star has been pushed in, worse than the other wheel covers, and scraped a little--no, I take that back, I just ran my finger over it, it was just dirt, the tri-star is good. Just got pushed in somehow. On the paint: one small scratch, a dot near the scratch, and about a dozen microdots. At the outer circumference of the paint, a 1-1/2" segment of paint is gone. Exterior, around the holes, yep, that's flash rust.

Item 0019: White wheel cover #7 of 7. The one you want. Steel. Green inside, a little better than #6. Curb rash, but no dents aside from what you see around 4:30 by the rim. No deformation. On the paint, that one-inch double-scratch at 7:00 and some microdots. Exterior chrome has started to oxidize, about like the roofline trim behind the rear windows on my 300D. Wheels 1-6 aren't doing that. Very much. That rust spot on the ring around the holes at 1:30 has started to bubble. Light flash-rust around the holes-ring.

Now I expect someone to chime in and tell me, "W123 wheel covers will fit the W108" or something like that. I wouldn't know; my 300D's have bundts not wheel covers. This is the first time I've ever looked at Mercedes wheel covers. If they're garbage...oh well, I can always cut 'em up and use 'em as trout dodgers ;-}

Status: Auction ended with no bids. First offer of $75 (price includes shipping, anywhere in the lower 48) takes all seven wheels.

Item 0020: Gas pedal. Don't get too excited; this is actually a W123 gas pedal, part # 123 301 00 82. Evidently it's an exact fit for the W108. And the W116, too. This one was on the 280S. The 280SE had this W123 pedal too, but that one looked 20 years old. This one looks like NOS. I haven't cleaned it in any way. There wasn't even a shoeprint on it. Auto Parts Warehouse wants $21.58 + shipping, on sale this weekend. Who'll start the bidding at five bucks?

Status: Auction ended with no bids. First offer of $15 (price includes postage, anywhere in the lower 48) will take it.

Item 0021: Cowl. This is the only piece of sheet metal I took; it was lying loose on the cabin floor of the 280SE, which didn't have any seats. Both cars had a cowl, so its origin is a mystery. Paint is chipped off and rusty around the wiper holes, backside is rusted. But nowhere clear through.

Cowl from rear:

Cowl from top:

Cowl inside:

Status ended with no bids. To the scrap dealer it went.
