Unless you are the president of a small country in South America, stay away from the 4.5 and 6.3. The 280SEL inline 6 is not only fun to drive, it is cheaper to restore and maintain. As with many cars of the era, rust, transmission issues, fuel injection pump, leaking sunroof, dried up rubber seals, collapsed seats, dried out leather, plugged up brass fittings in the climate control valves and dead power window motors are a few items to inspect. I can tell you that all parts are still readily available at a price.
