Hello! I found myself a 280CE.

Hey guys! first time posting on here but been a guest for quite some time. But lets get down to it.

Recently due to sheer luck and youthfulness I was given a BEAUTIFUL 280CE. This car was a street class track car in Germany, and was brought to Canada by the original owner/driver as a car for his son. But just as my luck would be the owners son hated the car and never accepted the gift! How could any one hate this thing! But alas it does have it's problems. like a cracked block and head and on my budget right now i cannot afford to rebuild the old engine. But i do have a Lexus 1UZFE with everything needed to swap it. Body is in decent condition for a free car and it only has 72k KMs! My question is, Will this swap get me murdered by the MB community? picture is when i first got it BTW

Cool

First, congratulations!!! This sure is a nice 280ce (nice Rial rims too!)

I cannot speak for others but if you ask me, I would discourage you from doing the swap. Rather, do a swap but with a fine M110 engine. Thou not it's original engine, you'd keep the spec correct at the least.

Slightly OT: That car surely look like this:

i forgot to mention! i have 4 sets of rims too! Red, Gold, Blue and the ones i like, the silver ones :P Thanks for the input on engine choice. how much do you think a M110 could go for in Canada? i haven't really looked into much for Mercs but i've always loved the older body styles. Same with BMWs.
