Angry Why I hate USPS

Finally got my euro light in and I open them to this, one good one busted. They are insured but a bet they make me jump through hoops to get the claim. I bet they will also keep them which will suck .

It actually looks more like a $hitty packing job, those should be far better protected. Newspaper is not a packing material, unless you're shipping other newspapers. Hopefully that won't get your claim denied, but if it does and you bought from eBay, you can still file a claim against the seller to get your money back through PayPal because the seller still has the obligation to deliver goods in the condition you purchased, if that means they insure, they pack right, they send a replacement for free, etc., but don't do that until you find out the insurance claim first (tho don't wait longer than the protection period through PayPal, 45-days maybe, not sure). The shipper is usually the one who has to request the refund through insurance so you should still contact them and request your refund, then they can recover their end from insurance, the burden of proof of proper packing will be on them as it should be.

I've been inside both UPS and USPS sorting facilities on multiple occasions, and trust me, your money is much better spent at the USPS. The shipper did a poor packing job. With fragile stuff like that bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts are a must.

I agree re the packing. Seller should deal with the insurance claim. Hopefully it is as simple as sourcing a replacement lens and keeping the rest of the stuff. Unfortunately, USPS may want the entire package to process a claim. Again, make it the seller's problem to resolve.

They were packaged pretty good, each one was in a bubble wrap bag , wrapped in a shipping blanket then surrounded by news paper. They wasn't loose in the box. Your right i asked USPS what they do with it and they say they get destroyed . I am now thinking that I would hate to just get $150.00 dollars out of them and they be trashed. I may just try to find a lens.

Was the box penetrated by something? In general, a bubble wrap bag isn't much and newspaper is useless, but I would have thought that a shipping blanket would have been OK.

If you got a pair for $150 that is quite a good deal. I think you need to see if seller will find a new lens for you. There is one on ebay for $140 for a lens, which I think is silly money.

There was damage to the box, I was not home when it was delivered . This is not the first time the postal service has damage a box, Hell one time they actually put a note in one after it was cut open saying the packing was damaged but the items were intact.

Parts such as this are best ordered from your dealer and then picked up there. This way they can deal with damage claims if the items are broken like this. I rarely if ever have items delivered by any service to home.

I contacted him and he is sending me the original receipt that way I'm not out more money from having to pay return shipping.

Thought I would update, I ended up keeping them, I talked a nice gent over in the UK to ship me some lens over here to the states, price was about $145.00 . Two left hand drive lens, and restored blinker and fog light plastic. So I figure total out around $300.00 for lights that will work right over here like they were made for here. Will get some pics up .
