Just an fyi, the firing order is cast into the valve cover of my engine... took me forever to figure out what the numbers meant until I really thought about it.. thought that was kinda nifty...

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

Set the crank at #1 top dead center. Pull the distributor cap and notice that the rotor is lined-up with a notch in the top edge of the distributor body. Check which plug wire on the cap lines-up with the notch. That is #1 plug wire. Then follow the firing pattern clockwise on the distributor cap to determine the other wire locations.

Like carenterman said find #1, also it may be marked on the cap which is #1, then clockwise from #1 is:
Cap #1 to Plug #1
Cap #2 to Plug #5
Cap #3 to Plug #3
Cap #4 to Plug #6
Cap #5 to Plug #2
Cap #6 to Plug #4

Just like the numbers on the valve cover indicate 1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4

I doubt it will help, but:
