Vintage MB Oil Painting

I have had this painting for some 7 years now. Some research I did couldn't shed any light on the artist or portrayed women. Only thing a knowledgable appraiser could tell me is that it was an original oil painting probably from the 40s or 50s (material such as canvas & hardware) while the objects are clearly late 20s early 30s. Measures are a good-sized 47" x 57" and shows great subtle detail.
It says "picnic" on the back.

I enjoy its displacement in my house on a plastered wall a lot. What an odd setting for a picnic - don't you think. It looks like it's going to rain soon. It has somewhat of a Great Gatsby feel to it.

I would suggest that perhaps it is a commissioned piece done by the lady pictured as she is clearly a specific individual, not a stylized image. The artist could have also simply chose her as the model, but I prefer to think she owned the car shown, a much more romantic notion don't you think?

probably from the 40s or 50s
The style of painting looks 70s or 80s to me
The car is poorly rendered in an attempt to skew its perspective
But I do like the unsettling weather and the look on that womans face
