Post W108 manual transmission problem

Hi again,
My 1966 250SE, manual on the floor, has developed a somewhat new problem: the shifter wobbles really hard, and is almost impossible to select the reverse. Any reliable source for shifter bushings, and info on how to replace them would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jean

There are bushing on the shift rods at the shifter and at the transmission as well as in the shifter. You might want to check them all out on EPC before you call. The only way you will really know is to dissasemble the assembly and inspect it.

Thank you

Thank you very much Ed and Tony. I'll give them a phone call Monday morning. Meantime I'll try and see if the shifter can be disassembled in order to specifically identify the defective part. I am assuming that the car needs to be raised on a lift bay.
