Adsit Company, Inc.

Living in a new city.., town that is, I have little to no connections for parts and labor. On top of that this is my first restoration on MB, Euro cars in general. How does the benzWorld feel about Adsit Company, Inc.? Are they competitively priced? Customer Service? Accuracy of order(s)? Do they have stock on early '70's parts?

How would you rank them? I'm in the market for "Something" in every system on my 1972 280SE 4.5l.

Thanking you all in advance!

I personally prefer autohausaz and i know many use rockauto, but Adsit has been around for a long time and they are based in a quaint Midwestern rural area where I once lived so I have a spot in my heart for them (and the owner is a real car guy). Some people don't like the return policy, and I have found the selection to be somewhat limited except for certain things they tend to carry, most of it 70's and 80's related items it does seem from my recollection. I'm sure others can give a broader view.

I live near the quaint midwestern city(Muncie Indiana) and have purchased several parts for my 72 280SEL 4.5. from them. No problems so far and thier prices seem very competitive. I have heard some complain about used parts bought there but can't recall specifics.

I have used them for my 280sel and
my 450sl. I find them good but not a good internet site. You have to call. I find german auto to be cheaper, better selection and great to deal with.

i have ordered from them a few times. they were ok. one time though i ordered a head gasket and it was the wrong one, realized it while trying to put it on, was to dirty to return. I have ordered sheet metal from Klokkerholm usa. cant say it was the best quality but the price was good and with some cutting it fit

I have used these guys recently for my 450SL. They have a large selction of used parts for the 107 chassis SL's. The guy on the phone told me they currently have about 20 complete 107 cars. If you have a 107 these guys have your part either new or used He also said they have a couple 111, 108, 109, 126 coupes.

Do lots of reading about them before you buy. Lots of negatives out there about their practices. I've been convinced to never use them.

I've used them a few times. Once I got the wrong year wiper motor (used) they didn't have the right year and they gave me a good deal on a new one (correct year). I'd use them again no problem.

But there is no single source that has every single part you need (if there is please share it) and sometimes the prices vary - google is your friend here, search and search again.

Good luck

No probs with Adsit here - I used them for rocker panels. They delivered what I needed very quickly too. I often see people grouse about customer service though...
