What do you think of this? '76 450 SEL

1976 Mercedes-Benz S Class - MLD Motorwerks, LLC Eastpointe, MI

It's near me, and it looks tempting. I live near Karl Heinz Auto, a shop devoted to mercs and bimmers; so I have a reliable and honest mechanic. Would this be a problematic vehicle? Is this one where you have to go through hell just to get at the heater core?

your thoughts appreciated.

the powerplant

not sure (newbie) if that's the 6.9 or 4.5 powerplant, though I know of the significance and desirability the former has! Don't see a 6.9 badge on rear, so likely a 4.5, right?

Looks straight and clean if a bit over priced. Knock off a grand and you're in the ballpark.

Not a 6.9, no right side badge and the cam covers are not painted black.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant
