Engine Swap

Hello,
I need a little information. I have a 1970 250 sedan with the original
engine. This engine is worn. I have access to an engine from a 1967
250s with 60000 miles for a great price. Will this swap work easily and would
this be a good idea? Is this engine out of the 67 known to be a good one?
Thanks in advance for the help.

The 250S engine will fit because they are basically the same. The engine will need to be disassembled and checked because of its age.

You can also disassemble the original engine and check the pistons for wear. If they are OK, the rings will need to be replaced, you can get the block sleeved and bored to the correct dimension because new pistons are expensive. Something to think about.

The carbs will need to be overhauled. Check the valve guided and do a valve job. Watch for head warp.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant
