I think with my case the guy would take anywhere from $1000-$1500, and its a nice example of a W108.. plus with a trunk full of spare parts (chrome trim-steering wheel-wood-extra set of head lights). So I definitely think its worth it. I wish it had a sunroof though. I already bought a new Bosch distributor cap for it. The one it has does not fit right and can lead to bad timing.

We do not buy these cars because of economics but because we love them. I think most people are upside down in them (I know I am)

A better-than-described-in-the-listing 1968 280S with webers sold on ebay yesterday for $520. It isn't rusty. The paint is poor, the interior is fair. YAHOO

Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-Benz | eBay

I believe that ff that car was in a major Metro and not in Blythe, then the seller could have gotten much more than that for it. Webers are $900 themselves.

And you will never guess whose former car that engine and webers are going into!

Oh trust me I do and I'm glad since I promised the PO that I would not part out the car and made sure it went back on the road.

You're helping keep the promise

Apart from a distributor, what else does it need? Carb rebuilt?

Any chance of pictures?

The carbs were rebuilt, but havn't been attended to in a long time. Plus the car has just sat for a while..so we both might have bad gas Anyway I do really love those cars and loved it years ago when the same car was parked at the mechanics across from my house (I think carbs were rebuilt then.), I was like wow, I would really like to own one of those one day and voilla! However I don't want my lust for one overcome my better judgement. Maybe I'll start at an offer of $800..I just don't want to pass up on a good deal for this car...but then again I don't need or want another project.
