Parcel shelf removal

Hi everyone, I need to replace one of my seat belts in my 72 350sl. My books say to remove the parcel shelf as the first step. The book skips over the fine points of getting it out. I see some holes that seem to be to grab onto and do something. It really doesn't seem to want to move easily. Before I use my usual excessive force, I thought I might ask if someone had a better idea. Missing some screws or plastic clips? Thanks in advance for your help. Ken

You might want to start hanging out on the 107 forum here:

A lot of dedicated nutcases in a very active forum. A lot of knowledge.

There should be two slots on the front of the parcel shelf, at the bottom. you just grab under there, and pull straight up. You'll have to give it a bit of 'ooomph' to get it, but there are spring clips that will release.

Hi Scott, Thanks a lot for the information. I will try it out and I am sure it will work. One thing I have noticed about these cars is that if you pick the easy and logical way it works. I learned this the hard way. Thanks again. Ken
