He's got a 250S and he wants to upgrade to V8 brakes, as stated in the first line of his first post.

I've been looking into various combinations and the best option is indeed the 3.5/4.5/6.3 brakes with carbon kevlar pads. Straight fit and more than enough braking power. The upgrade won't give you more braking power (apart from the added one from the carbon kevlar pads) but the vented disks will give you better resistence to fading.

Other options are possible like fitting Gen2 126 rotors and callipers but the work and expense involved is not worth the gain in my view.

Custom build PorterField brake pads. We have them on our 300E race car - holy crap. You want to stop? You'll stop. But that may be a bit excessive for road use.

That's not what "the first line of his first post" stated originally. He added the part about V8s later. Originally he just "wanted to upgrade", St Urho only knows to what.

Seasons greetings.

So I went to PepBoys and they have the V8 calipers for $80 exchanged but no rotors. The search continues.

Thanks.

That must be sweet. Reminds me of the Brembos on my 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution.

My car has been sitting for 32 years so some of the rubber stuff have been compromised. For example when I poured brake fluid in the reservoir the calipers leaked all over the place. I try to improve whenever I can so instead of rebuilding the regular caliper I want to get the upgraded caliper and it's for nearly the same price.

I'm "trying" to build a replica of the "Red Pig" for track days - vintage class.

Refurbishing The Brakes

I removed the calipers and master today.

Having trouble separating the reservoir from the master (trying not to be too forceful and break stuff).

What is the trick?

Thanks.
