First post here. I've got a brother-in-law of my wife who has a 67 230 (not an S or SL) on his land and it's not in horrible shape, but it needs work. It needs work done on the engine (biggest concern) and the body.
1. Anyone familiar with the kind of work an engine like this needs? It's a dual carburator, 6-cylinder. Supposedly, it was made for driving on the Autobahn and not for the States. A serviceman brought it back when he was done with his time in the military.
2. From all accounts, I've seen the 230 isn't worth nearly as much as a 230S or 230SL. Because of the amount of money I'd have to put in, I don't know if it's worth my time or money. Anyone know about the difference between US and European versions of this car and any difference in value? Any telling signs to be able to know the difference? I found some general details online stating that there are two versions, but nothing of substance. I have some pictures I took of the car this weekend, and I can email them.
