Post W111 Water pump housing compatible replacements

Any one knows if there are later versions (W124) of the water pump housing are compatible with the W111 (220SEb)?

It is hard to find any that are not corroded hence I'm looking for a compatible version...

My housing was buggered as well. Also the thermostat housing. Yes, they are hard to find.

As a last resort (or until I find a good replacement) I fixed them by carefully and slightly over-filling the pitting with JB Weld. Then a file and sandpaper to smooth. The rounded rims can be a real challenge to get right.

It worked for me, but of course it's a hillbilly solution.

I discovered that a 1/4-20 tap and bolt will replace the smaller metrics which hold the pump to the housing. JB weld works wonders.
