Sorry to disagree with one of your posts, but NO 280 MB gets "great" gas mileage. Period, end of discussion. You pay for what you get in this world, and unless you can fix these cars yourself or have plenty of money to spend on them, you'd best think about something else. I have a beautiful '78 280SE and I love driving it, but it does NOT get "great" gas mileage and when something goes wrong, it is NOT cheap to fix, UNLESS you can do it yourself, which I'm too old to do. That's just my perspective. Think carefully, my friend. They're wonderful cars, but they're not cheap and they do not get "great" gas mileage. If you want "great" gas mileage, get a diesel.
