whats size tires for 71 280se 3.5 ??

i have been running the 205 70 14's on 6" inch wheels for a few years and they seem to look whimpy for the size of the car from the rear.. also almost unavailable in a set of 4 as michelin has halted production ( per tire rack )

thinking about bumping up to 215 70 14's to get a lil more meat on the wheels.. anybody had success or problems with such a fittment ??

i heard that the 600's had 215 70 14's as its stock tires so does that help ?

thanks

I just put 205/75/14's on my 108. Much nicer. Looks a lot better. Also running 6" wheel. (I think the correct size is 195/75/14) but they look way too small.

600 cars run factory 15" wheels

My W111 Coupe came with 215/70-14 when I got it. If you go that way you should try to source a set o 6.5" wheels.

6½" rims and 205/70-14 tires from the factory. Try to avoid 75 series tires if possible, as that will throw your speedometer off by a few percent.
