Where to find air intake filters? w108

I have a w108 and am looking for a set of air intake filters. They go in the climate control intake between the hood and windshield. One of mine has crumbled and is letting in debris. I probably could create something to work, but I would rather not. Thanks 4 your help.

Stop in or call your local Mercedes Benz parts department and ask for:

A1088300118 air (insect) filter right (cabin air grill)

A1088300218 air (insect) filter left (cabin air grill)

Try also peachparts.com or even a local car parts place, like Autozone or Napa. They're likely to be much cheaper than the stealership.

Thanks, The dealership is my last resort, I don't like to go there for anything. My local dealer told me once my fuel filter was unavailable in the U.S. and Germany. I could not find a cabin filter category on peach parts or autohauz. Next I guess I will try a local parts store. If no luck there I may price the dealer before I find some black foam to go in there.

You might be surprised on dealer prices, sometimes they are reasonable. You can get a genuine MB exhaust for the same price as time-valve aftermarket exhaust for example

Dealer said $49.60 and $41.60. call me a cheapskate but that is too much to pay for two cabin filters. Thanks for the part #. I'll take some pics after I make something.

If the dealer price is too much for you for the air intake filters you shouldn't be owning the car.

But it is, and I do.

I think a sheet of dual stage motorcycle filter will filter air much better than the stock one, at 1/10 the price.

<laugh> Well that's an elitist thing to say! Speaking on behalf of myself only, I wouldn't pay $50 to a dealership if I can pay much much much less at a local parts store, for the same part number/materials. A markup is understandable, but dealership prices run to the extreme.

Regarding a cabin filter, I'm not familiar where such would be located. Can anyone educate me? Is this thing accessible from inside or outside the car?

That's what I would do, the filters are nothing special...
