1980's Mercedes Benz with a modern interior?

So I have had a idea in my head for the past I don't know how many years and I believe it needs to be expressed. Now I was wondering what would look like a really nice luxurious looking benz and I started putting things together in my head because so far I haven't seen anything like it. I see so many people getting a SEL class from the 80's and tune it like a modern car with spoilers and body-kits and everything and their appearance is questionable to me. I was actually picturing a SEL class all black presidential looking with I guess you can say a modern Maybach-ish interior. Getting a genuine benz lcd/ nav custom fitted in the dash board and then adding custom lcd monitors to the back of the front seats. Inside the seats would be mahogany leather with wood grain everywhere it should be. I don't know, it seems classy in my head. Please tell me what you think and other ideas to improve this machine. To me the 80's SEL models seem even more enticing not even due to the bigger engines but the amount of interior space the cars had.

Not sure where you're going - but might be nice.

So I'm trying to picture thing in my head - altering the dash to hold a modern GPS and getting it to look nice is hard or expensive (and probably both).

GPS is great and I personally am trying to come to a good solution installing one in my '73 that looks good and like it could be stock. I'm not hung up on it being an official MBZ gps - in fact I think you'll get better price performance and more install options going for a high quality aftermarket brand.

LCD on the back of the front seats - easy - there are many 3rd party solutions. But my personal thought there is just buy an iPad, load it up with video and let the folks in the back seat hold it if they want.

You can restore to stock fairly easily should 5 or 10 years down the road you rip a seat - but custom is harder.
