w111 some questions

so this is currently how my 111.010 stands....

i finished honing the brakes on it, as its a 61 and has drums all around. i just need to install the rear left brake line, and add brake fluid and its set brake wise...

here is what else I want to do...

1. Replace radiator fluid. What fluid do I need and how much?
2. Replace transmission fluid, again, what type and how much?
3. Replace spark plugs, what kind do you guys recommend most?
4. Car has a leaking rear diff.... how can i go about fixing that?
5. and my hydrak shifter broke, and I can't get it fixed.... any ideas? I will post pics soon of that as well

Have a look here mate - I collated some info that I found from various sources.

Where is the diff leaking from? If out the axles into the brakes, there are seals in there that need replacing. I did mine once and it was a bit of a pain.
As for leaks in the main part, I have no idea. I hope someone can help you.
The pontons had more cars with those hydraks, maybe try the ponton group - see the first link in the ozbenz page.
Good luck, love the finnies. I just got the 450V8 in my black one started on the weekend.
Cheers, Drew

drew,

Really appreciate that bible! I found this to use in my transmission...

http://www.amazon.com/QUAKER-STATE-DEXRON-II-MERCON/dp/B000GL19KI/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=IITRIG4QR3OXU&colid=19YOSTIF8IHLG
this acceptable?

I also read in your bible about polishing up the bumpers, and I think i might just have to buy some steel wool and metal polish. I assume this is for the chrome bumpers? And I could use it safely on other chrome parts of the car?

and the leak is sadly somewhere around the area where the rear drive shaft connects with the differential.

but thanks for the help man!

Being from Australia I don't know the brand, but Dexron II is Dexron II, no matter the brand.
Steel wool on chrome is fine. Keep in mind though that nothing will really help with die cast parts that have pitted right through to the zinc metal.
The diff leak is from the front pinion seal. I looked it up in my manual once but there were so many special tools required that I didn't bother, and handed the job over to a mechanic. But a guy did send me some pics of various pullers etc that he made up for the job - seemed like he had more time in making the tools than doing the job itself! I think the tightness of the main nut was critical too and I got scared.
Happy fintailing!
