i have a 74 280 that i've driven for about 5 yrs. done minor maintenence as needed. a very tough machine that really feels right on the road. gas mileage is not great. a lot of carburator complaints, but mine is original and works fine. i have heard the blower motor is just about impossible to replace. the seats are stuffed with horse hair which at this age will turn to dust and fall out the seat bottoms, leaving your ass on the springs. a very expensive process to re-stuff/reupholster. there are alternatives, but none are satisfactory and will destroy the value of the car. i don't know where you live, but west coast/desert cars are your best bet to avoid rust problems.
