I lusted after a really nice 6.3 but was talked into a near perfect 4.5 instead(by a 6.3 dealer) as a trial to see if I wanted to cope with the hassles the 6.3 can provide. Now after dealing with lots of the issues on my 4.5 and reading more about what 6.3 owners have to go through for thier cars, I think I may be giving up my 6.3 dreams. I have driven a couple of properly tuned 6.3 and they are torque monsters off the line but the vast extra maintence cost just does not seem worth it compared to the sweet running and identical looking 4.5

The more work you do the cheaper it is. The engines are resilient, you may tear it down I think the 4.5 W108 is a very nice car. It is a decent proposition if you don't wan't to pay the 6.3 premium price and deal with air suspension complications and mad part prices
