w115 power steering pump

I just wanted to ask if the power steering pump of a w123 is the same as those in a w115. I've been looking for a power steering pump for my 1969 model 200D and a friend's mechanic told me that I could use a w123 pump since the same was used for both the w115 and the w123. Is this correct?

It is a different pump. The W123 pump has an inbuilt reservoir, the W115 has a seperate reservoir. It is also located on a different spot.

If you are handy with iron, you might be able to fit a W123 pump on a W115. The problem is not only the pump, but also the correct bracket (which doesn't break or come loose).

Thanks for the information. I will resume my search for a w115 power steering pump then. Cheers!

W115 power steering pump x2

just noticed you're searching for a pump for your '69 200d. my 1972 220d never was never equipped with power steering but both my parts cars have it!

one is a 1970 220d and the other a 1972 220d. never having started or driven either one i can't speak to the pumps' condition, but if you are interested in one of these we can work up a price then work out the particulars.

where are you located?

Thanks, barnumlives! My 200d is not originally equipped with power steering as well. I am installing power steering to make it easier to drive. I already have the steering gear. I am still looking for a pump and a pulley. I am in Manila, the Philippines. Where are you located?

Hi Bryan,

Here is a picture of your pump area. there should be a belt from the crank pulley to the PS pump pulley.

Please complete you profile so we know where you live.

here is how to adjust your belts

Is there a place that can rebuild a RHD steering box? Have a spare one one with loads of play in it.
