Can someone please measure 108 dipstick for me?

Greetings!
I purchased my 1967 300SEL last summer and have been working on some puzzling changes that were made. The car was restored in 1987 and they swapped the original engine for a 1972 280SE straight six. I am told it was bored out to be 3 liter. They also converted it to a 4-speed manual.

One concern came up when checking the oil. The past owner told me he put 7 quarts in for the oil change. The 280SE service manual states 5.5 liter capacity (5.8 quarts). The dipstick shows the car is overfilled and it dripped oil from somewhere last summer/fall the few times I drove it.

Since the car ended up having the wrong master and slave clutch cylinders, and had a hex nut in place of a bleeder on one of the brake calipers, I am I suspect of the dipstick that is in the car as well. It has 230/250/67 stamped on it, though it is a 280 engine from 1972. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct dipstick, or at least the correct length and markings for this car.

The length from the collar to the end is 11.75 inches or 30 cm. The distance from the end to the low mark is 9/16ths of an inch or 1.5 cm. the distance from min to max is 1 5/16 inches or 3.3 cm.

My first project will be to change the oil and put the right amount in. Knowing I have the right dipstick will help!

Thanks for your assistance.

Hoping someone with w108 6-cylinder can help

Hello:
I am "bumping" this post in hopes that there is someone with a W108 6-cylinder 2.8 engine who could measure their dipstick for me. I need the overall length from the collar to the tip, and the distance from the tip to the min and max lines.
I just need to know if the one I have in my engine is accurate.
Thanks in advance for your help.

can someone with 280se 6 cylinder (w108) measure dipstick

Sorry to be pushy, but I am sending this back to the top of the cue. Perhaps my headline was not clear enough. I am hoping someone with a 6 cylinder 280 se engine (W108) can please help. I need the measurements for the dipstick, as I think I have the wrong one in this car. Thanks for your help!!

I can do this for you tomorrow no problems! My dipstick look similar to yours... I can take photo's too!

** I am not sure if my dipstick is original/correct but has worked for me the last year. I do find it pushes into the side of the battery a little.

I really appreciate your help. When you change oil do you use 5.8 quarts, or is that amount different?

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your help. Your dipstick is clearly the same as mine, so I can stop worrying about it. I appreciate it!
