59 190sl

My friend has a 59 190sl that we are starting the restoration process on. Spent yesterday afternoon pulling the eng/trans,gonna try and get the frt/rear suspension out next weekend, then put it on the rotissere for all the panel work. While we were pulling the engine we hit a roadblock on the exhuast,it looks like someone built a header/manifold for it at some point, there was no flange. It dumped straight into the opening behind the wheelwell and was welded to the rest of the exhuast system.I did a little research and found the car classified as either a 110 or 121,based on year model i think it's a 121.The engine for all years was an m121.Anyone else here have a 190sl?He also has a 61 that is already restored,we found the 59 and he decided he wanted another one.

A W110 is a short nose Fintail. You're looking at a W121.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant
