Ignition retrofit on 74 450SLC? affect injection?

Anyone have info on circumventing the $tock points/tran$i$tor box ignition with some aftermarket electronic system? Would it cause issue with the injection system?

You can very easily swap to a more modern ignition setup. The EFI has trigger points lower in the distributor case. Don't mess with those.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

I replaced the ignition in my '72 280SEL 4.5 (same engine) with a new ignition from Pertronix. I installed the Pertronix 1885 with the Flamethrower coil. Not expensive and worked great the first time. Takes about an hour to install. It gets rid of the ignition box and the ballast resisters, but does not affect the D-Jet Fuel injection.

There are several threads about this. Search the forum with Pertronix as your search phrase.
