Could someone point me to a reference showing (or even just listing) the original leather upholstery colors available on the 1950s and 1960s M-B lines?
One in particular interests me. A colleague mentioned she got a "Zertificat" showing her 1955 220's original interior leather upholstery was "special color" DB-1080. But no one can find any samples or brochures even mentioning the color DB-1080. DB1079 red - yes; DB1088 red - yes, but no references to DB-1080. Colleague says it's now a very dark red, but after 60 years, who knows what it originally looked like.
There are several online examples of standard and special order leather I've found at MBZponton.org. But even those don't show a DB-1080.

From several sources I've learned that the "Zertificat" is really just a modern highly embellished version of the data from the original data card (delivery certificate, etc.). Those original cards were often typed quickly, on old manual typewriters with well used ribbons, and at least in my case, my original data card is *very* fuzzy and difficult to read, including some obvious mis-spelled German words.
Any suggestions? Anyone know of any "official" record showing the DB-1080 as a leather color?
