Leaking front air suspension

I just bought a 72 380SEL 4.5. I am going to pick up the car. The owner told me that there is a leak in the front air suspension so the front is lowered after the car is parked for a while. The front will be raised to normal position in 3-5 minutes after starting the engine. I am suspecting that there is condensed water in the air tank. So I want to discharge the air tank before I driver the car home.

I have a question on how to discharge the air tank. Is it just to unbolt the bottom bolt in the air tank to discharge?

Anything else I should pay attention to drive the car 200 miles the first time by me?

Thanks in advance.

Air tank has valve at the bottom. Pull it to the side and it will open and condensation will drain. Release when water drains out. Don't empty tank. Of course that is not going to fix a leak.

Have you bought it site unseen?

Thanks. I know discharging the air tank will not fix the leak. I just want to drive the car home safely and then fix the leak.

I bought the car on ebay so I have not seen it in person. I have seen pictures and knows the history of this car very well as one of the members of this forum knows this car very well. It has been taking care of by previous owners.

You should really start a new thread as this is a different subject. Anyways, check this site. It has a doc on sunroof.Star Motors, 1694 Union Center Maine Highway, Endicott, NY 13760, 607.786.3918 - Services - Mercedes Benz Dealer - 300sel - 450sel Good luck.
