Question 74 230 need helpfor ignition

I recently purchase a 74 230 from a friend of mine for about $200 in trade. He told me gas lines where rusted out but they ended up fine, just needed new rubber hose fitting. he has a lot of surface rust but interior fairly intake. Only thing its missing off body is back passenger side hubcap. I am in school for body work and refinishing so that is no big deal. The problem is when i turn the key the starter does not turn over. I've replaced all fuses under the hood with eurpean style like he had in it. ive jumped cylinoid on starter and it turns. its getting power because lights come on and hazards. Wipers work and so does brake lights. Radio does not come on with key turned and neither does AC unit (factory) and horn not really. If key is in and door opens it does buzz. Anyone give me an idea of this problem. This is my first mercedes and would love to have it running within a month of owning it. Then just gotta focus on the body work. Thanks for reading. Griz

Power flows to starter solenoid from battery>headlight switch>ignition switch>neutral safety switch (contacts closed in P and N)>starter. Wire is violet, violet/white. Using test light find out where the brake is.
