1976 300D - noisy V-belts..please help.

tightening is not the problem i think..i tried it but still it slips and creates noise..the V-belt for my a/c is the culprit..how can i fix this? please help me..thanks...

I had the same problem on a 78 300D, found a bottle of belt dressing at my local auto parts store that would make the squeal go away but never for more than a few days, so save your money.

My belt looked ok, but must have had some glaze, because when I tried a new belt, problem went away. If you already tried a new belt & the tension is set right, I don't have any other suggestions. Don

try a different brand of belt, or this is a longshot theory... try to isolate the pulley making the noise. then remove the belt and rough up the pulley surface w emory cloth to create grip that may have been lost over the years.
