There is absolutely no way of telling if it is a good deal or trash. Items to find out about:

1. Rust situation
2. Leaks - front and rear windshields are likely to leak if gaskets have not been replaced recently and the cost for replacing the gaskets isn't cheap. The result can be rust in the trunk and other more difficult places.
3. Heater blower - make sure it works
4. AC Blower - make sure it works also THERE ARE TWO BLOWERS and the heater is a pain to fix. Big pain.

I paid I think $4300 for my coupe a year or two ago and it's a pretty nice one but could use new paint and needs to have the A/C put back into it. But it's rust-free, red with parchment interior, and LOTS of the suspension had been rebuilt/replaced. Drives like a dream.

Currently: 1967 250 SL, 1963 220Sb, 1965 300SE Lang, 1971 280SE parts car, 1972 Alfa GTV, 1965 Alfa Duetto, 1993 BMW R100R
Past: 1971 250 C, 1985 300 TD, 1967 250 S, 1968 280 S,1981 300 D, 1982 280CE, 3 Facel Vegas, Borgward Isabella Coupe, Alfa 2600 Sprint, Volvo P1900 (yes), numerous less interesting Volvos, ...
