W108 Stuck door (locked)

Haven't seen anyone have this specific problem so hopefully someone has an idea here. I have a 72 280 SEL 4.5 and the drivers rear door will not come unlocked. As it appears that all the access depends on the door being open, does anyone have any suggestions or hopefully, know any trick to getting this open? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, more specifically, the interior lock button is down, and the outside button acts as though it is locked ie: nothing but the return tension. I can't pull the interior knob up, and I've put as much upward pressure on it as I feel comfortable before causing something internal damage or the knob itself to fail.
Pulling on the inside handle does nothing at all.

I've been battling the same issue on the right rear door. I have taken the door panel off and sprayed penetrating oil all through the latch assy...

If I figure it out I'll let you know.

So you were able to get the panel off though? I haven't taken the arm rest or anything off, as I didn't want to try and dismantle anything before I knew what I was getting into. I was assuming, possibly correctly, that you couldn't dismantle the latch assembly without having the door open, as the surround around the mechanism has those two (?) screws in that seem to hold it in place. Again, I haven't toyed with disassembling the other side either. I don't currently have a garage, only a carport, so I don't want to get stuck with a door that doesn't stay closed!

Oddly enough, last night my door just "started working". I was with a couple friends from school and one got to that door before I could say it doesn't unlock and it came open no problem. Has anyone ever seen "Christine"??

I have the same problem, the rear driver door is stuck locked. The lock button is down and neither of the door latches has any effect. Any suggestions on how to remove the door to fix this? Thanks!

I have not watched this but Kent Bergsma's videos can be helpful.

While not germane to the specific problem herein, it is prudent to note that these cars were equipped with a "child proof" feature which prevented opening of the rear doors from the inside when the dedicated mechanical latch on the rear of each door was engaged.
