Talking Always something to do !

I think most of your ideas are spot on .

Not sure why you think you need those too wide tires & wheels ~ they don't match the rest of the car in anyway atall , make it unpleasant to drive and look ugly to boot .

I know there's a whole raft of folks reading this and liking it ! .

A Sanden AC compressor and R-12 should get you where you want to be cooling wise .

212* F @ hot idle isn't hot ~ running it as close to boiling temp. is very good , it makes the engine far more efficient and lasts longer , more power , better fuel economy and so on .

I agree you may need a bigger E-Fan , I assume it has a three row radiator core now ? .

Wire the fan relay live so it comes on during after shutoff heat soak .

Also not sure why you'd want to change the park brake handle location , it works fine so why mess with it ? .

Etc.

Keep these GREAT work reports coming ! .

I'm up to my elbows in another foolish oldie right now :

Thanks Nate, appreciate all of the inputs!

Love the Morris Minor. Wanted one of those at one time. I even looked at a Austin America. ( I have too many distractions now also, as I have 6 cars!)

ok, back to the W110.

I wanted slighly wider tires to improve the handling to more modern cars standards. I took a corner at a speed that I wouldn't think twice about in my Audi A4, and got lots of tire squeal in the W110. Going to the later 15x7 allows me a larger tire and as well as a wider selection of tires and brands. The original 13, has almost nothing available! In fact the tires on the car right now, are trailer tires! Accck.

Good to hear, that 212 is ok. I just get nervous. But, I think the whole problem is airflow, so the upgraded fan should fix it. I am using the original W110 radiator, and when the car is moving it doesn't overheat, which does indicate airflow. I actually have the fan wire live now, but it's just setup to turn on anytime the engine is on. I will change it to switched at a temp later. (The MS has a output to switch a fan on, at a desired temp. Just not wired yet.)

Yep, the C230 motor came with Sanden AC, so, that should work well.

The factor e-brake goes right where the C230 AC compressor is, so, it had to be removed. Otherwise, I would just keep it.

Again, thanks for the comments!

Very interesting and most enjoyable read as you progressed with the engine
On the front suspension,I do hope you have replaced the sub- frame mounts as they are a critical item in these models .

Thumbs up Tire Squeal

Brett ;

I imagine the tires squealed because they're trailer trash .

I toss my various old Mercedes' around like go - karts and almost never have tires squeals because I use good rubber , not cheapo .

The E-Fan should fix you up nicely , make sure the thing is wired live and uses a relay .

Do not EVER get suckered into an Austin America ! not even for FREE ! .

They're out there and folks who know you like up up - fix old cars wil try to sand bag you with these worthless junkers .

Mind you , I rather LIKE LBC's and Austins in particular .

Nate,

My brother had an Austin Marin GT. Really. Jeremy Clarksons favorite car. . No room for any more cars for me. So, I am safe.

Adler, thanks for the info. I will add to the list.

Slight detour: non-mercedes content

Decidced to post a couple of my other "distractions" and why I don't make the progress that I should.

Updated my "todo" list. Added in subframe mounts, radio, etc.
