New Member: '66 300 SE W112 Air Suspension Questions

Hey all,

I'm a new member and am having a hard time finding replacement parts for the rear air suspension on my car (for a reasonable price not direct from MB) and if anyone could help with some guidance in the right direction to suppliers or even just correct part numbers (as the ones I've found in different places are all completely different) just to help my search go forward.

It's greatly appreciated

Cheers

Please tell me just what is wrong with your air suspension. Fill in your profile, such as 1966 300SE coupe/Cabrio etc, location etc etc.

This forum has much info on air suspensioned cars but you need 'permission' to post as a spam deterrent. Check the 6.3 forum first.

Not part of the in-crowd since 1952. It's BRAKES not breaks. You break a bone, use brakes to stop your car. /rant

I just uploaded some stuff to the online resources section of the forum, on 112 air suspension. Perhaps it might help

Hi,
try Luftfederung.
Michael is very knowledgeable and last time I checked he wanted about 350.-- euro for a rebuilt valve in exchange.

A few more questions

With regards to air suspension repairs (still waiting to get this done, was out of the state for a little while)

How long does it take to replace an airbag/suspension assembly on the rear axle for this car, and how much would that cost to have done at a workshop?

Even just rough estimates so I have a good idea on what to expect

Check out the m100 Forum for the work involved. I wouldn't want to pay someone but if i did it would be Star motors in the USA . Neil Dubey, the boss there was the first to actually repair the valves et many years ago.
Dr Art Love has several air suspension cars which are restored ,here is a link about how he did the valves on one recently. The manuals only describe the basics, not the faults which develop over 40 + years.
